Aidin Torkameh

Aidin Torkameh
Doctoral Candidate, Environmental Studies, York University

Aidin is currently a PhD candidate in Environmental Studies at York University, Canada. He is now working on his dissertation project, which examines the transformation of Iranian state formation (since early 19th century) through a spatial lens under the supervision of Stefan Kipfer. He holds a BA in urban planning (Tehran 2009)and an MA in urban and regional planning (Tehran 2011). Aidin has translated Henri Lefebvre’s Dialectical Materialism, Rhythmanalysis, and The Survival of Capitalism; Mark Gotdiener’s The Social Production of Urban Space; and Andrzej Zieleniec’s Space and Social Theory into Persian. Aidin also established (2016) the first (online) journal on critical urban theory and human geography in Persian named Space & Dialectics.
