Wendy A. Medina de Loera
Wendy is an international doctoral student in the Department of Geography at York University. The research she will conduct to complete her doctoral studies lies in the interface between the constitution of mining sites in Indonesia and the shifting ways in which some of the people living in the surroundings of these areas relate to the environment in terms of access to and control over resources necessary for their survival and social reproduction, and in terms of labour organization and practices associated to the acquisition of these resources. Wendy holds a Masters in Southeast Asian Studies from the Center for Asian and African Studies at El Colegio de México, in Mexico City.
