I am a doctoral student in Social Anthropology at York University. My doctoral research project is located at the intersection of queer desire and intellectual property rights in India. By conducting an ethnographic intervention into how a group of queer men have become Only Fans adult performers, I shall be tracing the multiple locations that mark homo-erotic desire when evaluated against India’s gay rights movement and more specifically, the continuing legacy and entailment of ‘privacy’ from its anti-sodomy laws.
