Glover Frederick

Frederick Glover is currently an instructor of history at St. Mary’s University in Calgary. His primary areas of research interest include the history of Canadian-Korean relations, history of Korean Canadian communities, modern Korean history, Korean Christianity, Korean diaspora, Canadian-Asian relations, and the history of Asian Canadian communities. Frederick graduated with a PhD in history from the University of Calgary in November 2018. His thesis examined the history of the Canadian missionaries and Korean Protestants in Northern Korea and Manchuria from 1893 until 1928. He is preparing his thesis for publication. Frederick’s next major project will examine the history of the Korean Canadian community, with a particular emphasis on Lee Sang-chul, a seminal leader of this community, and the first Asian moderator of the United Church of Canada.
