Asma’s doctoral project seeks to use a capabilities-based approach to evaluate environmental justice issues faced by South Asian migrant workers working on eco-development projects. She is a PhD student at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. She holds a BA in International Relations from American University of Sharjah and an LLM in Environmental Regulation and Sustainable Development from Newcastle University. Her research interests include environmental law and policy, justice theory, human rights and development studies.
