Hsin-Yun Peng

Hsin-Yun is a doctoral student in the Social Work Department at York University. She completed an MA in Gender Studies from Shih Hsin University and BSc in Mental Rehabilitation at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. She was a caseworker providing vocational services and career planning for disadvantaged people and sexual minorities in nonprofit organization and government in Taiwan for five years. She is also the core member of Taiwan’s LGBTQ movement and advocating LGBTQ rights and same-sex marriage legalization. Her research focuses on Chinese LGBTQ individuals, migration, life strategy, gender equality, and career planning.
