Screening of Shabnam Sukhdev’s award-winning thesis film, an autoethnographic documentary is informed by her daughter’s mental health. The filmmaker will be in attendance to discuss her work and unpacking mental health from a caregivers’ perspective with Leena Manimekalai, filmmaker and poet, and moderator Elaine Coburn, Director of the Centre for Feminist Research. Audience is invited to interact in this rigorous session around media representation of mental illness, migrant identities and caregiving challenges.
