Saturday, 22 October 2022 | 14:00 to 17:00 EDT | Room 207, Accolade East Building, York University
A three-hour story workshop unpacking family history through play, featuring mask painting, music and food, and community. To make it more fun, you may bring a favourite family photograph with you!
Filmmaker and Story Workshop Facilitator, Shabnam Sukhdev will lead you through the engaging process of mask painting and improvisational performance.
In the workshop, food and conversation will become important channels of connecting with other participants, unraveling what family means to each of us.
All members of the York family are invited to this free event. Space is limited so please register here.
This workshop is presented with support from Theatre and Performance Studies and the York Centre for Asian Research at York University.
Join us on Monday, 24 October 2022 for the screening of Shabnam Sukhdev’s Unfinished (English-Hindi) and a discussion with the filmmaker and Leena Manimekalai (poet and filmmaker), moderated by Elaine Coburn (Centre for Feminist Research).
