Monisha Poojary is a researcher and doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at York University. Monisha has an interdisciplinary background in sociology, psychology and criminology and has been trained in quantitative and qualitative methodological approaches. Her research interests are in the following areas: race and racism, migration, transnationalism and diaspora. Her dissertation explores the intergroup dynamics of South Asian immigrants within the Greater Toronto Area and how South Asian immigrants negotiate racial, ethnic and cultural identities.
