My research focuses on understanding the socio-political, economic and legal histories of environmental movements in India, their vocabularies and the legal/bureaucratic responses of the state. It is supported by funding from York University’s Graduate Student Fellowship, the Harley D. Hallett Graduate Scholarship, and the Joseph-Armand Bombardier CGS Doctoral Scholarship. Prior to joining the doctoral program, I was an Assistant Professor at National Academy for Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad between 2013 and 2021 and a visiting professor at Tel Aviv University in 2020. I have curated and taught courses on Environmental Law, Law & Poverty, Constitutional Law, and Environmental Justice. I hold LLMs from both NALSAR (2013) and Osgoode (2018).
