My research interests primarily include the Filipino-Canadian diaspora and their contributions to development in the Philippines. More specifically, I analyze how this type of development can be situated in governmentalizing processes that create and reinforce religious and middle-class subjectivities. My master’s research focused on a religiously inspired NGO that created dozens of social housing projects throughout the Philippines and receives the majority of its funding from the Filipino-Canadian diaspora.
