Professor Giordan holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (Université de Montréal). Former Chair of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Linguistics at York University, his research focuses on modern and contemporary Chinese literature, comparative literature, aesthetics, as well as drama and theatre studies. He has published articles on journals such as Wenxue pinglun, Zhongguo xueshu - China Scholarship and Parol. His monograph on Shen Congwen was published in China by Yunnan University Press (2013). His current main projects include a monograph on Wang Xiaobo’s fictional work and a study of Chinese avant-garde and experimental theatre.
