Artist and art director Park Chan-kook speaks on art and the urban environment

Artist and art director Park Chan-kook, artist and art director, visited York on 27 November to speak about art and the urban environment, with a focus on his current community art project, Dongdaemun Rooftop Paradise (2013- ), which recycles abandoned urban space and objects and revives local resources in Dongdaemun, a district of Seoul crowded with wholesale and retail clothing stores. This event was the second in the Transnational Asia series, organized by Hong Kal (Visual Arts), Laam Hae (Political Science) and Jessok Song (University of Toronto).
